About Us

The Filey Vets approach

There’s been a veterinary practice caring for Filey’s pets from Station Avenue for more than 50 years.

Since 2022, our practice has been owned by our lead vet Lauren, which makes us a genuinely independent practice.

And we believe that makes a massive difference.

It means the person deciding how this practice runs is in the building, treating patients. It means we answer to you and your pets, nobody else. And it means we’re free to offer the best care as we see it.

What does that look like?

It looks like taking the time to explain a diagnosis properly, rather than rushing you out of the door.

It looks like writing things down for you to take home, because nobody remembers everything from a consult.

And it looks like honest recommendations based on what’s right for your pet and your situation – because we know that every family is different.

We’re a small team, and that’s deliberate – you’ll see the same faces at reception and, wherever we can, the same vet through your pet’s treatment. We believe that continuity of care is crucial for spotting the things that matter.

We’ve set ourselves a goal to be the best vets on the east coast.

Ambitious? Definitely. But it shapes everything we do, from the standards we hold ourselves to in the consult room to the way we answer the phone.

We’d love you to come and
judge for yourself!
